Our People. Our Mission. Our Power.

The Association for Intellectually Disabled Black, Indigenous and People Oppressed by Color (AIDBIPOC) is a Non-Profit Organization located in the Greater Chicago area. We are a civil and human rights organization formed to help intellectually disabled black, indigenous, and people oppressed by color who are missing, and exploited, as well as those who seek justice due to racial disparities and inequities.

WHO WE ARE

CIVIL & HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION

Our Purpose

Our mission is to help intellectually disabled and persons of color overcome obstacles and struggles that contribute to their vulnerability as a result of racial disparity, inequity, discrimination, and lack of equal access to justice resources.

We provide support through community organizing activities, direct support services, referrals to cooperative partners, community reintegration, family reunification, and ongoing support to ensure their civil and human rights are given fair and just attention with a special focus on our justice and education system, unfair disadvantages of intellectually disabled people of color, and protection from civil and human rights perpetrators.

Our Services

Our services include legal defense assistance, investigative services, missing or exploited person search and retrieval efforts, homeless prevention and support services, and essential needs provisions for participants from the onboarding process, on through their reunification and reintegration period.

We also provide and coordinate counseling services, education to our participants, as well as to our local and national communities, relocation support services when determined to be in the best interest of the participant, and other needs determined to be necessary and critical to the participants’ acclimation process during their recovery and healing.
